SICILY. Tauromenion. Circa 214-212 BC. 15 Litrai or Trihemiobol (Gold, 10 mm, 1.08 g, 12 h). Laureate head of Apollo to right. Rev. TAYPOME-NITAN Tripod with three ring handles, ornamental volutes below the bowl and legs ending in lion's paws. HGC 2, 1572 var. SNG ANS 1119-20 var. (obverse symbol). SNG Copenhagen 927-8 var. (obverse symbol). Very rare. Struck from worn and rusty dies, otherwise, very fine.
